Kylie Jenner & Stormi Are Twinning In The “Stormi, You Look Like Mommy, Baby” TikTok Trend

Stormi Webster, AKA the daughter of Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott, is arguably the most famous three-year-old I know. From enjoying glamorous birthday parties to rocking a $12,000 Hermés bag on her first day of school, it’s no secret that Stormi is the definition of star power without even trying. Now, she and her fellow superstar mama are the inspiration for a viral TikTok sound that has already been used in 148,000 videos on the app. In the “Stormi, You Look Like Mommy, Baby” TikTok trend, creators are calling themselves out in the best ways, and the results are almost as amusing as when Stormi’s parents bought her a giant school bus for fun. Here’s what you need to know about the Jenner-inspired TikTok trend and how to try it for yourself.

The “Stormi” audio can be traced to this original video, which was posted by TikTok user @stormiibabii earlier this fall. In the video, you hear a sassy Stormi saying “Are you kidding me?” followed by Kylie squealing, “Stormi, you look like mommy, baby!” Although the audio sounds exactly like the famous mother-daughter duo, I can neither confirm nor deny that the audio features their real voices; after all, @stormiibabii is a well-known parody account featuring uncanny vocal impersonations of Jenner and her daughter (with TikTok’s “green screen” effect and all). It has been speculated that @stormiibabii is Kylie’s secret TikTok account — but as with many mysteries of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, this verdict will have to wait for another day.

It’s impossible to scroll TikTok this week without hearing the “Stormi” audio at least ten times, which reminds me that the famous family is here to stay, whether we like it or not. In the TikTok trend, creators are using this audio to create videos where they poke shameless fun at themselves. Similar to how Kylie says “You look like mommy, baby!” in the original video, the goal is to make a point of connection between yourself and someone (or something) else, highlighting an obvious resemblance or funny quirk that you both share. For example, @aaimen1’s version says, “Teaching your future daughter to drive and she runs over a curb” followed by a skit where she almost flies through the windshield. In the background, you hear “Stormi, you look like mommy, baby!” as if to imply, “like mother, like daughter.”

While the trend can be interpreted in a variety of ways, it’s worth noting that many versions of the “Stormi” trend are about TikTokers and their future daughters. Creator @hannahg11 says, “when your future daughter gets married three weeks after knowing someone” and @samanthaa.nicole says, “when my future daughter quits every job after a few months because of ~anxiety~” (relatable). TikToker @caitlynisabella wouldn’t be surprised if her future daughter needs Starbucks every day to function (runs in the fam), and @savannahmarable says, “when my future daughter goes into Target for one thing and ends up spending $400.” If my future daughter takes after me, I’m afraid this will be her fate as well. (Baby, avoid the beauty aisle at all costs).

While many examples of the TikTok trend are related to creators’ future kids, Gen Z is less interested in family planning and more focused on calling themselves out in witty ways. For example, @aymansbooks jokes about catching her daughter reading heavy smut in the morning, which can only imply that she has a similar habit. Creator @ladyefron’s daughter is more obsessed with celebrity crushes than real-life men. TikTok couple @joshxkatie’s daughter gets an iced coffee every day, and @rileyshieldss’s future daughter just spent all of her money on a brand new outfit. Whatever the situation may be, the “Stormi, You Look Like Mommy, Baby” TikTok trend is all about calling attention to those little habits that make you who you are — for better or for worse.

Like any viral TikTok trend, you are welcome to interpret the audio however you please — and despite the original video being about a mother-daughter relationship, you can draw comparisons with just about anything or anyone. For example, @kittyycaat says, “when your friend wears your clothes out” followed by “Stormi, you look like mommy, baby!” implying that they both look alike. Creator @laraadkins says, “when I force my sister to let me style her” followed by footage of her sis, @niamhadkins, donning a new look. TikToker @dree says, “when my bf starts adopting my skincare routine” and @jacobemile’s version says, “when your plant looks good but is dead on the inside.” LOL.

The “Stormi, You Look Like Mommy, Baby” TikTok sound is not only delightful to listen to, but it makes for an entertaining, lighthearted trend overall. When you’re ready to try it yourself, use the trending audio to highlight a time when you were actually “matching” someone in looks or style; or, you can opt to call out a funny quirk that you share with someone else. So, whether you and your bulldog are currently wearing matching sweaters or your daughter has absolutely no sense of direction and requires a GPS everywhere she goes — which seems far too relatable — the possibilities are endless for the “Stormi” trend. Check out some funny examples on TikTok, think of a “matching” scenario or funny quirk you have, and let your creativity run wild. Regardless of what you create, I’m sure three-year-old Stormi will be proud.
