Kim Talks Kanye with Oprah

It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are wrapped up in a glamorous romance but this week, nearly four months after the pair started popping up on the paparazzi’s radar, Kim finally opened up about her relationship with the rapper on Oprah’s Next Chapter.

“It’s very comforting to have someone that knows everything about you, that respects you, understands, has gone through the similar things,” she told Oprah. Of course, a bond like that isn’t formed overnight – while their relationship seemed to materialize out of thin air, Kim explains that the two have been friends for six or seven years.

“We’ve known Kanye forever,” sister Khloe told Ellen DeGeneres back in April when the couple had just started dating. “He’s been a great family friend.”

And friendship, she said, is “where good relationships stem from.”

“I don’t know why it took so long for us to kind of get together,” Kim said in her Next Chapter interview, “But I think I needed to go through all of my experiences and some that he’s gone through.”

The experiences she’s referring to are largely encompassed in her 72-day marriage to and divorce from NBA baller Kris Humphries.

“I feel like I’ve had an epiphany over the past year from what I’ve been through and I am that changed person just from my own experiences,” she said, adding that she loves dating someone a couple of years older than her.

There has been discussion of the pair moving in together (following hush-hush sales reports from TMZ of their respective residences) and a friend of Kanye’s told Us Weekly that he’s looking forward to having children with her. The same source claimed that “they’re seriously talking marriage. And yes, she would [accept his proposal].”

Whether or not these reports are true, there’s no denying that the couple are enjoying their time together.

“I feel like I’m at a really happy, good space,” Kim told Oprah.

What are your thoughts on Kimye, collegiettes? Do you think these two can make it work or is this all too good to be true?

She spent the past year working as the Diversions editor at the Loyola Phoenix where she had the opportunity to interview a handful of movie stars, including Jonah Hill, Michael Fassbender and Josh Hutcherson. This summer she'll be interning at Us Weekly and living the dream in New York City. Her idea of a good time is take-out chinese food, working on her novel series and rocking out to either Coldplay or Kanye West. After college she hopes to land a job writing at an entertainment magazine where she can make a living off of consuming absurd quantities of pop culture and then blabbing about it for the enjoyment of others.
