From Jack Harlow to Alix Earle, Alex Cooper and her Call Her Daddy podcast gives the people what they want. In her most recent interview on Nov. 29, Cooper did it again when she invited Country Music star Kelsea Ballerini back to spill all the details about her relationship and more.
Ballerini first appeared on the podcast in February 2023. At the time, Ballerini was facing a lot of publicity for her very public divorce from Country singer Morgan Evans and blossoming romance with Outer Banks star Chase Stokes. She was aslo celebrating the release of her album Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, which spoke on her relationship with her ex-husband.
On the Feb. 22 Call Her Daddy podcast, Ballerini soft-launched her and Stokes’ relationship as she gushed over her sliding into his DMs. But now, almost a year later, Ballerini returned to Call Her Daddy to fully embrace her thriving relationship and as well as dish some piping tea about her relationship with Stokes’ ex, Madelyn Cline. Here’s everything she revealed.

Before Stokes and Ballerini got together, they were both in very public relationships. Ballerini was married to Evans for almost five years before they divorced in November 2022. Stokes, who got his rise to fame playing John B on Outer Banks, dated his co-star Cline for over a year. They eventually broke up in November 2021, but still work together on OBX.
Stokes and Ballerini started dating in January 2023, which Ballerini subtly confirmed the last time she was on Call Her Daddy. In the February 2023 interview, Ballerini shared, “I’ve never seen the show, but I just knew of him. And so I followed him, and he followed me, and I just swan-dove right on in.”
Following the news, the internet was quick to pit Cline and Ballerini against each other. But the pair proved they are girls’ girls through and through when they met at the 2023 VMAS. The two shared a sweet message to each other on social media following the meeting. Under Cline’s Instagram post about the event, Ballerini commented, “you looked a ridiculous level of stunning and i’m glad i finally got to hug your neck 🤍.” Cline then responded to the sweet gesture with, “So happy I got to squeeze you gorgeous gorgeous girl.”
Ballerini again gushed over Cline in her Nov. 29 Call Her Daddy interview where she said, “I met her, and I talked to her, and she’s lovely. I think she’s wildly talented. I think the internet did its best to make it really weird and it just didn’t work for them,” Ballerini said. I’m stoked to be on set and vibe with everyone. At the end of the day, I’m a girls’ girl, I don’t buy into the bullsh*t…They have a beautiful working relationship. I’m excited to hang with her.”
Ballerini proves that an ex-girlfriend and current girlfriend can be cordial, better yet, friends. So please stop trying to pit these two women against each other.

Beyond clearing the air about Cline and her relationship, Ballerini also gave fans a closer look into the beginning of her and Stokes’ relationship. The last time she was on Call Her Daddy in February, Ballerini soft-launched their relationship. When asked if she was dating Stokes, Ballerini said, “I’m just vibing.” Now, she’s loud and proud about their relationship and spilled some adorable details about when they first met.
In December 2022, Ballerini slid into Stokes’ DMs, which she shared via an Instagram carousel for his birthday in September. Ballerini shared on the Call Her Daddy podcast that the pair finally met in person after a month of talking on Jan. 7 — and it was swoon-worthy. Ballerini left it all out there on the table. In the interview, she spilled, “[I] met him in person on January 7. We were supposed to have our first date on the 8th, but I was in L.A., and I was like, ‘Crazy that I’m here and we’re not in the same room.’ He was like, ‘Drop your pin.’” Is anyone else giggling and kicking their feet?
But wait there’s more. Ballerini then went on to share the details of their first kiss. “I walked out to his car and he got out of his Bronco — hot. He did not say a word to me. He grabbed my face and he kissed me. He pulled my face away and said, ‘Thank God you’re real.’” Someone get this in a romance movie right now.
So as much as the internet loves to hate on women in relationships, Ballerini and Stokes are thriving and proving once again that “if he wanted to, he would.” Call Her Daddy, thank you for your service.
