Katseye’s ‘Beautiful Chaos’ Tour Show Is As Gnarly As You’d Expect It To Be

From the 20-somethings waiting in line overnight to little girls filming the concert on their iPad, KATSEYE’s BEAUTIFUL CHAOS tour stop in Atlanta on Nov. 26 united multiple generations under one roof for a gnarly performance.

Just months after the release of their second EP, BEAUTIFUL CHAOS, KATSEYE has embarked on their first-ever tour with 16 stops across North America. The Atlanta stop was at the Coca-Cola Roxy, and I doubt they will be playing a small venue like that next time they stop by. By the time I arrived, the line had wrapped around the entire venue and continued onto the next block. I was shocked that so many people could fit, but they were able to tightly pack all the fans in. I have no doubt that with their rapid growth, KATSEYE’s next tour will be arenas.

The show’s run time was about one hour, and the girl group performed every song from their two EPs, along with songs from other projects, such as Dream Academy (the competition show that formed KATSEYE) and their Monster High collaboration. It was a jam-packed, high-energy show.

The show was split into two acts and an encore. Each part had a different outfit, starting off in leather, then bright colors, then their own merch that they DIY-ed to fit their individual styles. The first act included hits from both EPs, including an amazing opening to “Debut.” The second act featured their songs from Dream Academy and other projects, alongside viral hits “Gnarly” and “M.I.A.” The encore brought fans back to the start with their first single, “Touch,” and ended the night on an emotional note with the song “My Way.”

The talent within this group is undeniable. Not only are they singing full-out (no lipsyncing here!) but they’re also performing difficult choreography and making it look easy. KATSEYE is known for their impressive choreography, and even included multiple dance breaks within the show. I personally loved seeing the iconic GAP Better in Denim ad IRL.

I really appreciated the fan interaction from all the members, as I feel that can make or break a show. They were attentive enough to flag to the venue staff that an audience member was having a medical emergency, and even called for water to be thrown out to the crowd. On a lighter note, they took time to teach the crowd some of the choreography to the new song they’ve been teasing, “Internet Girl.”

This show was special, as it was member Daniela Avanzini’s hometown show. After the first three songs, she let the crowd know how special it was to be performing there, and gave a shoutout to her many family members attending the show to support. You could tell she was truly giving it her all and loving every second of it.

I was unaware of how age-diverse KATSEYE’s fans are, and was surprised to see so many young children at the concert. One special moment I witnessed was a mom recording her daughter doing the group’s choreography in the crowd with the stage behind her, and she was hitting every move perfectly! Seeing so many girls across different generations scream and dance as a group was a true display of girlhood.

It was such a special experience to attend an intimate concert with a group that is sure to sky-rocket to stardom. My favorite part of the show would have to be during “Tonight I Might,” when Daniela sang her iconic line, “I’m not the perfect example of someone ready to handle / The kinda party required to go in fully inspired, but…” and the crowd screamed it along with her.

Described by its title, Beautiful Chaos, this show was exactly that. I wish I could see it again and again, and I’ll be tuning in from my phone screen for the last few stops.
