My mom and Harry Styles only have one thing in common: They both love to send me a cryptic message out of nowhere. ICYMI, Styles’s newest Together, Together Tour announcement came with a personal message that has fans totally confused. And, following the announcement, Harries have a major question: Is Harry Styles retiring?
If you’re confused, don’t worry, you’re not alone. In a Sept. 9 email to his mailing list, Styles announced upcoming dates for his ongoing tour — but that’s not the part that raised eyebrows. After teasing a 2027 extension of the Together, Together Tour, Styles wrote, “Being an artist is the only life I’ve ever known really, I have been doing this since I was 16 years old, and I feel like the luckiest person in the world to still be sharing these moments with you. Tomorrow’s announcement will be the final cities of Together, Together. After that, I don’t know what comes next for me, but I know that I’m excited to find out.”
Styles ended his message by thanking fans and expressing his excitement for the remainder of the tour. “I can’t wait for us to keep dancing with all our friends, I hope to see you there,” he wrote. “Thank you for coming out to see us, and for all the love and support you’ve given me over the years.”
While fans were obviously excited to hear that the Together, Together Tour is moving into 2027, they also took to the internet to share their reactions to the news — including their theories that Styles may be retiring after the tour.
But while Styles’s message was a bit cryptic, it doesn’t mean that he’s retiring… in the traditional sense. Fans of Styles know that he usually takes breaks after his massive album releases and accompanying tours: He took roughly three to four years off from music, spanning from the end of Love On Tour in mid-2023 until his return announcement in January 2026. And with Together, Together going into summer 2027, Styles definitely deserves a break.
And still, that doesn’t mean Styles is stepping away from the public eye permanently. Styles has also dabbled in the acting world, booking roles in major films like Dunkirk and Don’t Worry Darling. And with Styles being engaged to filmmaker Zoë Kravitz, it’s not a stretch to theorize that we may see him on the screen again soon. (Fingers crossed.)
So, whether Styles’s note is indicative of a prolonged break from music, a full-on retirement from touring, or a soft-launch for an entirely new project, I know I’m not the only one waiting to see what he does next.
