Instagram’s Valentine’s Day 2026 Easter Eggs Are Too Sweet

Valentine’s Day is a day all about showing your appreciation for those you love. Candy, cards, candlelit dinners — all the works to let that special someone know how much you really care. However, Valentine’s Day is also about posting those you love. (Come on, who doesn’t want to be loved out loud all over someone’s socials? I most certainly do!) Whether your love is platonic, romantic, familial, or for your pets (because they deserve love too), posting an image — or a whole photo dump — to demonstrate the time spent together and love shared may seem small, but it’s so touching. And, TBH, very stressful. How do you capture all of your feelings in one Story or Reel? Luckily, Instagram is equipped with limited-edition Valentine’s Day features to help celebrate the ones you love on V-Day.

From Feb 12. through 16, new Instagram Valentine’s Day 2026 Easter eggs will be live across IG Stories, DMs, Notes, and more. If you’re hoping to embrace your inner poet or surprise with a new level of artistry, there are plenty of new fonts, frames, and stickers to decorate your stories and show the world, or just your close friends, how much you love each other.

Themed Fonts, Text Effects, & Frames

This Valentine’s Day, get creative with the all-new love-themed photo sticker Love Bomb Photo Frames and plenty of animated text effects that really give poet energy. Shakespeare wrote sonnets; now, so can you! Instagram is also adding Custom Mention Stickers for when you tag your bestie or sweetheart, which will trigger a special, limited-edition mention effect to make them feel extra special.

Secret Phrases in Notes

If you want to keep things a bit more lowkey, check out the new rotating Notes “Hidden” Themes. You might have to get creative to figure out which emojis or secret phrases unlock a surprise, but love is worth the journey! (Word to the wise, try the word “Valentine.”)

Chat Themes and Upgrades

If you like to keep your relationship private, or maybe have never been a fan of the fireworks and big displays, Instagram still has you covered with the V-Day additions to DMs. The new V-Day DM Chat Theme is here to set the mood for the big day, and — if you need to keep all of your apps in dark mode no matter the occasion — it’s available in both light and dark mode. And, to make sure you never miss a chat from your beloved or your bestie, Instagram is dropping a new, permanent update for DMs: the long-awaited message notification feature.

Edits Sound Effects & Fonts

Insta’s Valentine’s Day features even extend to Edits. Try out the brand new fonts and texts to create the perfect V-Day video, and don’t miss the new sound effects, including Harp Music and Heart Beat. So romantic!

Threads Screen Surprises

With Threads, you don’t have to post to experience the love. You can turn your Threads spoilers into hearts for a new take on a favorite feature — and, when you pull down to refresh posts, be prepared for a love-themed surprise. After all, is love not also about the unexpected?
