2025 has given us lots of infamous moments over the past 12 months: we’ve had endless TikTok trends — from “This, but in a liberal way” to the “yellow font theory,” and we’ve also let The Summer I Turned Pretty control our entire mood this year. We also can’t forget about those conclave memes or all of the celebrity tea that’s happened this year (still processing Tate McRae and The Kid Laroi’s breakup… DHMU). And as the year has been coming to a close, social media has granted us with one last internet trend, guaranteed to live in our brains forever: the “Say the word on beat” trend.
The trend is easy in concept: say the name of whatever image you see on the screen on beat with the music. But the words go fast, and whether you’re struggling to say tongue-twisters, or whether you get tricked into saying something crazy AF, the trend itself is funny.
While the videos come from a CapCut template, the audio itself is a Thai rhythmic chant — with the four words you hear repeating over and over again being “Moo Ma Ga Gai,” (which translates to “Pig, dog, crow, chicken) then followed by “1, 2, 3, go!” The audio, created by the account @robgongfriend, first originated in September 2025, and has gone viral since then, with people creating their own renditions of the original video.
So I thought, why not wrap up the year with a roundup of the funniest videos from this challenge? Whether you’ve been participating in the trend yourself or just love watching videos about it, I’ve rounded up the funniest, most chaotic “Say the word on beat” clips that had me laughing, cringing, and asking, “Wait, did they really just say that?”
Well… at least he can point?
I can’t even lie — he had me dancing along too.
Hands on knees, screaming “What?!” at the TV screen. Honestly, same.
Maybe the plastic hammer helps him focus…
If nothing else, these videos remind us that sometimes the best way to end the year is by watching complete chaos unfold on your FYP. So grab your phone, test your skills, and maybe don’t blame me if you say something ridiculous on beat, too.
