On Feb. 19, the Good Luck Charlie actress revealed that she has been a mother for quite some time, having adopted her four-year-old son back in Christmas 2022 after she and her husband, Grifin Cleverly, started fostering in 2021.
“I’m so lucky — being a parent is the biggest gift and most defining experience there is.” Mendler wrote in her post. Fans have since been gushing over this touching news as they share their congratulations on Mendler’s adoption and journey into motherhood.
One user wrote, “a literal mother, love her so much” as they expressed their enthusiasm for Mendler’s new chapter of life. Other fans have taken to reminiscing on Mendler’s past accomplishments in music with one user saying they were “expecting music news” but are thrilled nonetheless.
Many posts praise Mendler’s music as well as her other accomplishments through the years including her impressive work earning her PhD from MIT as well as receiving a law degree from Harvard — is there anything she can’t do?
On top of her revealing her family is growing, Mendler announced the launch of her startup company, Northwood Space, just 12 hours before breaking the baby news. She told CNBC that the vision is “a data highway between Earth and space” and that the company aims to connect ground stations to satellites in space.
Mendler is one of many retired Disney stars who have found success following their acting careers. Other Disney stars like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and The Jonas Brothers have gone on to continue their work in acting and music, as well as expand their horizons into the world of business.
