Alex Cooper Teased A Solo ‘CHD’ Episode & Fans Wonder If She’ll Announce An Engagement

While Call Her Daddy’s host Alex Cooper has been known to nickname secret boyfriends, people are now beginning to speculate if there will finally be a namedrop to announce her potential engagement.

Though Cooper has never formally said who her boyfriend is, using the pseudonym “Mr. Sexy Zoom Man,” and the two have not been publicly photographed together, fans suspect she has been dating CEO of Ace Entertainment Matt Kaplan, who was one of the producers of the franchise To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. Her Campus reached out to both Cooper’s and Kaplan’s teams for comment, but didn’t hear back by the time of publication.

Fans guess the two have been together since 2020. Hints of Kaplan potentially being the mystery man include Cooper admitting her boyfriend has a career as a film producer on the podcast. Other hints fans dug to uncover included a photo Cooper posted with a dog considered to be Kaplan’s.

Rumors of their engagement have been trending since Cooper posted a video on her social media platforms on April 20, sharing the date of her upcoming solo episode on April 25.

Having recently entertained guests like Cole Sprouse and Madison Beer, Cooper admits to always being honest with listeners, further motivating her to take a break from interviewing celebs so she can provide some insight into her personal life.  In the video, Cooper says, “I’ve told you guys everything, and there has been something I have been keeping from you for a while now.” On CHD, Cooper has always been open about vulnerable subjects, but if relationships are the one thing she keeps under wraps, it makes sense why fans would think an engagement counts as something ready to be shared.

Speculations escalated when multiple sources reported the engagement to Page Six, though the sources were anonymous and neither Cooper nor Kaplan have commented on the rumors.

Though people have made their guesses, could there be a chance that her announcement has nothing to do with her romantic life? Clickbait teasers are a fun pastime for her — remember when she teased Adam Levine’s appearance on CHD, only for it to end up being Adam Devine? — so it could be that we’ve missed the mark on her special news. Only time will tell.
