These New Movie & TV Show-Inspired Halloween Costumes Are Perfect For Pop Culture Fans

Besties, it’s almost *that* time of year again! Halloween is right around the corner, which means it’s time to start planning those costumes. You may be unsure where to start or what pieces to choose to make your vision come to life. It’s not easy recreating the looks of your favorite TV show and movie characters, but I’ve compiled a list of accessible and ~affordable~ costumes that are sure to wow your friends this year.

Classic costumes like a witch or vampire are safe and easy, but you may want to express your personality this year by showcasing your love for your favorite on-screen characters. 2023 TV shows and movies have brought us many amazing characters and looks to recreate. From Blockbuster hits like Barbie and The Little Mermaid to Netflix and Hulu shows like The Outer Banks and The Bear.  Here’s a list of shoppable Amazon links to help you create the most unique and affordable Halloween costumes inspired by your favorite TV shows and movies, both old and new.

Wednesday Addams

Let your inner goth girl free by dressing up as Wednesday Addams! The best part about this costume is that you probably have a few of these pieces already in your closet.

If not? No worries! Amazon has a dupe of her classic black dress and black socks. They also have a toy version of “Thing” to complete your look.

Daisy Jones & The Six

You can recreate many outfits from Daisy Jones & The Six, but Amazon has a set of ‘70s essentials you need to channel your inner Daisy Jones or any other characters.

The Little Mermaid (Ariel)

Heal your inner child this Halloween by dressing up as Ariel. Disney’s The Little Mermaid had such a big moment this year that an Ariel costume will surely be a hit and a fun conversation starter. If you plan on dressing up as Ariel this year, Amazon has a mermaid tail maxi skirt and metallic purple top to help you pull off this look!

Barbie

Barbie is by far the biggest movie of the year, and this Barbie cowgirl costume will surely be a hit amongst your friends. You can even make this costume your own by customizing and changing the cowboy hats

The Bear

One of the most talked about shows of the year is The Bear. Try your best Carmy impersonation this Halloween with this blue apron and a white tee

Succession

A Succession costume might be the most effortless look to recreate. All you need is a baseball cap, also known as the official dupe of Kendall Roy’s iconic baseball cap by Variety. You may have dreamed of being a Roy sibling, and now you can be.

Mario and Luigi

The Super Mario Bros. movie is one of the highest-grossing movies of 2023, so it’ll make for the perfect group costume this year. I’ve linked all the pieces you need to recreate the Mario Bros’ iconic looks, including the hats and mustaches, overalls, as well as red and green long-sleeved tees

Morticia Addams

Morticia Addams has such a classic look. Her long black dress and red lipstick are the perfect ode to the Addams family — and a great way to embody spooky glamour.

The Little Mermaid (Ursula)

Dressing up as Ursula is a fun way to embrace your inner villain. Amazon has a few options to help you recreate her classic look. I also found a perfect mini skirt inspired by her octopus arms that could quickly get the job done.

Progressive Agent

The Progressive commercials are hilarious and have become popular memes and a staple in internet culture. Check out this Progressive Agent costume if you want to take the funny and witty route this Halloween.

Carrie Bradshaw

Nothing says Carrie Bradshaw like a tutu! Sex and the City’s reboot And Just Like That… has breathed new life into the series and the beloved characters. Carrie’s identifiable style is a great Halloween look that’s perfect for any event — spooky or fashionable.

Outer Banks

Outer Banks has become one of Netflix’s biggest shows. The Pogue gang all have outfits fans can recreate, but Kiara has a specific crop top and short combo from which all the girlies can draw inspo. In episode five of season three, Kiara is wearing an Urban Outfitters shirt you can buy! Live out your OBX dreams this Halloween with a classic Kiara look that could make a great addition to your summer wardrobe next year!
