Tyra Wilkins is a staff writer for the Her Campus at Florida State University chapter, covering lifestyle, culture, and campus-related topics. This is her first semester with HCFSU, and she enjoys writing about interesting topics that resonate with college students and reflect everyday campus experiences. Beyond HCFSU, Tyra is a second-year Media Communication student at Florida State University, minoring in Political Science. She is a Dean’s List scholar and a C.A.R.E. (Center for Academic Retention & Enhancement) Scholar. Tyra works as a reporter and video editor for PULSE at FSU and volunteers in production with Seminole Productions. She previously interned as a Social Media and Marketing Intern for FSU’s Division of Student Affairs. In addition to her media experience, she participates in several student organizations, including the Student Alumni Association, the Society for Collegiate Journalists, SISTUHS, Inc., and H.E.R. University. After college, she hopes to pursue a career in journalism, digital media, or strategic communication.
When she isn’t writing, Tyra enjoys shopping, spending quality time with her family, and listening to music. She also loves scrolling through TikTok and staying current on trends. Tyra values balance and likes activities that help her relax and recharge.
