I am a current psychology student at Michigan State University. I am double minoring in Health Promotion and Human Behavior and Social Services. I aspire to become an Emergency Room or Hospital Social Worker as I have a passion for helping others. I believe that the healthcare system needs more patient advocates to help patients attain the resources that they need during and post care. I believe that we can and should do better, and that it is our responsibility, as those in the field of social services, to listen to and empower our clients.

I am a youth advocate and social media manager for 16 Strong Project, an advocacy and resilience focused non-profit organization based out of New York. At 16 Strong we raise awareness about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and seek to provide support to young people everywhere. We are focused on helping youth recognize their experiences, develop healthy coping skills to help build resilience to adversity, and uncover resources and support systems that can help them overcome adversity. I care deeply about my advocacy work and am so grateful to be part of a team that is equally as motivated to make a difference.

In my personal life, I love music, reading, and moving my body. Specifically, I love the flow yoga and the challenge of pilates. I play volleyball as a defensive specialist and I am forever grateful for having had amazing teammates. I love being outside, and the beach is my favorite place to be. I tend to read fantasy and dystopian and while I have always been a reader, I do give credit to the holy trinity (The Hunger Games, Divergent, and Maze Runner) for making me fall in love with reading.

After figuring out what my career plan was looking like, I took some time to reflect on who I am beyond that. Which brought me to Her Campus! I have always loved writing but haven't given myself time to in years, so we're back and trying it again. I am so excited to be a part of this community and to get back into myself again, one article at a time.
