Sophia is a freshman student at the University of Maryland, though she is originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She is planning to major in journalism and minor in creative writing at UMD.
She is interested in all types of journalism, but has taken a liking to crime journalism. She enjoy's crime documentaries and her favorite types of books to read are murder mysteries. In high school, she wrote many mystery stories for her creative writing classes. At UMD, she's hoping to explore all types of journalism and make change in the future.
Some other hobbies Sophia has apart from writing, are drawing and tennis. She's always really enjoyed pencil portrait drawings and she has played competitive tennis since middle school. She's excited to be on Her Campus, so she can read some great stories and create some of her own.
