Sohayla Hussein is a first year writer at the Her Campus UVA chapter. She covers topics ranging from lifestyle and beauty to mental health, books, and more.
Beyond Her Campus, Sohayla is an Echols Scholar at UVA, pursuing a double major in English and Psychology with a Philosophy minor. She is a part of many mental health and editorial clubs on grounds such as Active Minds and Unsung people. She has additional writing experience, as a cowriter for a literature review with The Independent Rikers Commission where she raised political engagement for the New York City community.
In her free time, Sohayla enjoys trips to Barnes and Nobles, going to the gym for a quick but deadly session, or nights in with her family. Catch her reading romance or fantasy novels, with a sweet treat by her side.
