My name is Silvana Esquivel and I'm a writer for the University of Glasgow Her Campus chapter. I am a Comparative Literature and History of art student born and raised in Mexico City. Studying abroad is a privilege that I am grateful to have, being here has made me grow and helped shape my academic and world views towards greater inclusivity, acceptance and recognition.
In addition to my academic pursuits I am a passionate volunteer at a variety of organizations. I work with the UNESCO-RIELA team and help edit their podcast. I am also a volunteer at the first Chest, Heart, and Stroke Scotland Bookshop, Chapter One.
Outside of these activities I enjoy the outdoors, and often find myself hiking, relating to this I also enjoy bouldering. Additionally, my parents instilled a love for traveling and learning history, which has fueled my studies and passions
