Hi! I’m Nikki Johnson, a junior at Johnson & Wales University, majoring in animal science with a specialization in pre-veterinary studies with a double minor in chemistry and mathematics. I’m the Vice President & Editor in Chief at the JWU chapter.
I have a strong passion for wildlife rehabilitation and conservation. I spent last summer studying abroad in South Africa working with big cats, specifically Siberian tiger cubs, white Bengal tigers, and cheetahs. This opportunity not only broadened my perspective on wildlife preventative medicine, but also deepened my understanding of international law and politics pertaining to animal welfare and conservation.
Outside of school, I work as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital, a charter member for the National Pre-Vet Club, a member of the Pre-Vet club at JWU, and a member of Sigma Delta Tau sorority. In my free time, I love reading, exploring the city, finding cute coffee shops, going to the beach, hiking, basically anything sunshine and an excuse for a cute outfit. I’m obsessed with everything fashion, clothes, thrifting, and aesthetics. I fully believe in “look good, feel good,” and picking out a cute outfit is basically a daily ritual (and a perfect excuse to go shopping).
