As a journalism student, I’ve spent the better part of four years writing, producing, researching and editing—relentlessly. While journalism has given me a love for storytelling, my curiosity extends across all forms of media. I’m especially interested in culture, music and politics, and I enjoy writing about the conversations happening around them. I believe some of the best stories come from finding the middle ground in cultural debates, and that one of the most valuable skills you can have is the ability to agree to disagree.
I also work in radio, helping build and promote brand activations for stations across the GTA. The job keeps me plugged into what’s happening in the city, from concerts and emerging artists to the ever-evolving Canadian music industry. When I’m not working with radio, you can usually find me carrying my Canon Mark II, looking for the next photo or story worth capturing.
Outside of journalism, volleyball has been a major part of my life. I’ve played both professionally and recreationally for the past 10 years, with aspirations of eventually coaching and working as a personal trainer. And, most importantly, I firmly believe that the books are always better than the movies! I proudly remain #TeamJacob.
