My name is Lauren Jackowitz, and I am a student at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where I am studying Advertising and Public Relations and plan to graduate in 2030. I am originally from New Jersey and graduated from Old Bridge High School in 2026. I have always been interested in communication, social media, and creativity, which is what led me to choose my major. I am taking classes that allow me to build my skills with Adobe programs and Photoshop. I already have experience using Canva, CapCut, iMovie, and different social media platforms, and I enjoy learning new ways to create and edit content.
Outside of school, I have had different experiences that have helped me become more confident working with people. I have worked as a cashier at an Italian deli and as a horseback riding instructor for younger children. In high school, I was involved in planning events such as homecoming and junior prom, and I was on the prom planning committee during my junior and senior years. These experiences taught me a lot about communication, teamwork, responsibility, and working with different types of people. I am especially interested in social media, content creation, public relations, advertising, and event planning, and I hope to gain more experience in these areas throughout college.
Horseback riding has also been a big part of my life. I competed in horseback riding for six years, and the sport taught me patience, confidence, responsibility, and how to keep going when something does not go as planned. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends, creating and editing content, using social media, and finding new ways to be creative. As I continue through college, I hope to learn more about advertising and public relations, gain real-world experience, and eventually find a career that allows me to combine my interests in communication, creativity, and working with others.
