Kate Walsh is a staff writer at the Her Campus at Texas Chapter. She is currently a freshman Radio-Television-Film major and is earning a certificate in the Core Texts and Great Ideas through the Jefferson Scholars Program.
Beyond Her Campus, Kate has interned for Texas Metro News, where she created an original podcast called JournaliZM: Keeping Up with Generation Z with her fellow media interns about Gen Z’s perspective on life. Her writing has appeared in Texas Metro News and her high school’s literary magazine, Esse. She loves to write about anything from mental health to movies to books to her hilarious life experiences and everything in between.
In her free time, Kate enjoys acting, singing, and writing short films, creating TikToks, and binge-watching reality television with friends. At UT Austin, she is blessed to be a Kappa Delta and a member of the University Theatre Guild. Kate is a huge fan of musicals and can quote every word of Hamilton. She is also a co-owner of a small business with her sister called Favor'd. You can often find her writing a million to-do-lists, FaceTime-ing friends back home, or reading yet another rom-com.
