Julia Smith is a first-year writer from Central New Jersey at the Her Campus of Colgate University. She writes articles about lifestyle improvements, mental health, fun reads, and fashion. Specifically, Julia loves to focus on helping other women improve their lives by offering simple alterations that can make life much easier and more fun. Julia takes the knowledge from her personal experiences and advice she reads in other articles to compose meaningful advice for women at Colgate.
Outside of Her Campus, Julia writes for the Maroon News on Colgate's campus and is a prose editor for Colgate Magazine. For the Maroon News, Julia likes to write for the arts and features and commentary section. Recently, Julia published an article in Colgate's Fall 2024 issue of Allegorical Athena, where she shared an intimate moment dancing with her Grandmother. In school, Julia is passionate about studying neuroscience. Also, she is interested in double majoring or minoring in Spanish or writing.
In her free time, Julia loves to spend time outdoors and planning activities that involve exploring new places. Julia enjoys traveling, hiking, and shopping with her friends. On campus, Julia is a part of the Colgate Ski Team and Women's Club Golf Team. In her alone time, Julia finds herself snuggled up reading an interesting book, painting, or doing yoga.
