Gabrielle Edmondson is a sophomore year student at Temple University from the PA area. Gabrielle is a health writer for the TU Her Campus chapter. She graduated from an IB and STEM–focused high school where she applied scientific and global thinking in terms of health. She has also worked on sides of public health and advocacy through her work with the Fund for Women and Girls where she advocated for reproductive health courses and sexual assault nurse examiners.
Gabrielle is majoring in journalism with a focus on digital and print stories that focuses on advocacy and aiding marginalized communities. She originally attended Penn State, where she worked at the News Lab as a documenter and contributor to a finalized report project. When she’s not writing, Gabrielle can be found in a broadcast studio, where she focuses on entertainment topics with Penn State’s Culture Central on Youtube.
Gabrielle has an appreciation for complex and passionate writers like Toni Morrison and Bell Hooks. In her spare time, she enjoys reading or watching video analyses on different media and how seemingly separate topics like fashion and social change are interconnected.
Gabrielle has experience in broadcast journalism for both news and entertainment with Penn State’s Culture Central. For print
work, Gabrielle has worked as a documented in Centre County, and has contributed to the Penn State News Lab’s Report on the Catabus system.
Gabrielle is from Chester County, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia where she graduated from an International Baccalaureate Highschool. She enjoys reading with her favorite author being Toni Morrison with books like A Mercy and The Bluest Eye. She enjoys fashion and shopping in her free-time.
