Claire is a fourth-year English Literature student with minors in Professional Writing and News Media and Information. She is the 2026-27 Associate Editor for Her Campus Carleton and a reporter for The Charlatan. Find her on the fifth floor of the MacOdrum Library writing essays, reading books, and journaling.
Claire is fascinated by the power of written language to convey meaning by stringing together a set of characters in a line. She explores her fascination through her creative and academic writing, particularly book reviews, essays on literature, short stories, and articles.
Through a first-year journalism class, Claire found a love for the journalistic style of writing, where her interests in writing pieces about arts, literature, the local community, and culture were developed. She's learned that journalism has a power to broaden perspectives, build media literacy, and connect with others. Claire hopes her role with HCC will allow her to share what people find interesting and meaningful.
