Now let’s get started!

The Love Hypothesis by Ali HazelWood

A fun, flirty read

This book was great! It definitely fell short in some regards. It was kind of dull with little to no drama. But it did touch on some great topics like women in STEM and the discrimination that is made within that field against women. It was a cute little love story, and the fake dating trope is always my favorite to read.

Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo

So poetic, definitely worth it!

This book was short but impactful. It had a unique premise that had me on the edge of my seat. It was a little predictable and the ending was not super exciting, but the way Acevedo writes is alone the only reason to read this. She basically writes poetry into a story about two girls who lose someone close to them in a plane crash. It also focuses on topics like immigration, absentee fathers and poverty.

One of Us Is Dead by Jeneva Rose

Delightfully entertaining

This came out a few weeks ago, and my Tik Tok has been full of the author…’s husband. While I do not necessarily understand the context of the joke, Rose’s book is so good! I love housewife/mom drama in books and this one adds in murder! I love murder. (Please do not take that out of context). It is such a quick, dramatic, exciting read. Each of the POV characters has their own voice, which is something authors struggle with a lot. This is written so well and has awesome twists and turns throughout.

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

Recommend reading this one only so you can get to the second

This book was good. It was not the best book in the series, but the rest of the series is so good that you have to read this just to get to those books. The romance in the series is delectable. The characters are eh in this book but they become less annoying as the series goes on. In this book, Audrey, the main character, is one of those “I am not like other girls” types, which is super harmful and definitely not the attitude I like to see. She does get better in the rest of the series, so if you pick this up, just hold on, it gets better.
