Floralia 2022 is probably the most anticipated event we will ever experience at Conn. With three years since the last Floralia, and only the senior class having experienced a Floralia in the past, saying Conn students are excited for the annual music festival would be an understatement. Even SAC’s lineup announcement was teeming with energy as everyone waited to find out who would be coming to campus. If you’re like me, you might not be familiar with a lot of the names on this list. So let’s break down just exactly who will be at Floralia 2022.

IDK

Our first headliner is IDK. IDK is a rapper born in London, based out of Maryland. While some might have said “Idk who that is” when SAC revealed the headliners, IDK has almost 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Their biggest songs are “ONCE UPON A TIME (FREESTYLE)” and “Shoot My Shot.” IDK might not be my style, but I think they will be really cool and get us all dancing during Flo.

Sammy Adams

Sammy Adams is a Trinity alum from Boston. He has a slightly smaller audience than IDK and has a more pop sound. I honestly wasn’t expecting to like any of his music when I put it on to write this article, but I actually really loved it! His biggest song “All Night Longer” has 78 million streams and a remix with B.o.B has an additional 22 million streams. All his music seems to have a really summer-y sound that will make us leave Floralia ready for warm weather and school break.

Iyaz

For this next one, we are throwing it back. Close your eyes and picture yourself on the school bus in elementary school listening to music on your iPod touch. Odds are you had “Replay” by Iyaz on. While this might be a one hit wonder, I think it will be really cool to have someone performing that everyone in the audience can sing along to. This is definitely a performance that you will go into thinking you know nothing about, and then realize that all the lyrics have been burned in the back of your brain since 2009.

Floralia will also feature quite a few smaller artists that you will be able to tell your friends you saw before they were huge. The afternoon lineup includes Joshua Lanuarii, STARGYAL TRIPPY, She-J Hercules, dltzk, Malado, Trash Rabbit, and some of the MOBROC groups that we all know and love. No matter what kind of performances we get at Floralia, I think we are all so excited to experience Conn’s most iconic tradition!
