How To Manifest 2022 Through A Vision Board

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Irvine chapter.

It’s common for many people to create goals for the new year, but New Year resolutions are usually not fulfilled by the end of December. For 2022, let’s do something about it to change that.

To fulfill your resolutions, you need to put them out into the universe by simply manifesting it. One way to do that is through a vision board. A vision board, also known as a dream board, is a collection of images, pictures, affirmations, and quotes of one’s dreams, desires, and goals designed to serve as a source of inspiration and motivation. Not only is it fun to make, it can be helpful in motivating you to fulfill your goals in life.

Figure Out What Is Important To You

Before you start getting creative, you need to take a moment and think about what it is you want to accomplish this year. Reflect on what is important for you. Here are some questions you might want to take into consideration:

  • What is important to me?
  • What goals/dreams do I have?
  • What do I want/need to do this year?
  • What do I look forward to accomplishing?
  • What would I like to invite into my life this year?

If these questions are not enough to put your goals into perspective, here is a list of themes that you can explore:

  • Relationships
  • Career and Finances
  • Home
  • Travel
  • Personal Growth (including spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally)
  • Social Life
  • Education
  • Health

Essentially, your vision board will speak for itself. It will tell a story of your dreams and what you aspire to be by the end of 2022.

Now Collect & Create

After you choose what to incorporate onto your board, you can start looking for images to establish a theme, color palette, or aesthetic. You can get inspiration by browsing through visually-pleasing photos on sites like Pinterest, We Heart It, and Flickr.

There are two ways in which you can create a board; physically and online. To do it physically, you need to go through magazines and newspapers to cut out images and affirmations that match your goals. You also have the option to print things out. Once you have a decent amount of cut-outs, you simply start putting it together. This is where your creativity comes into play. You move everything around to your liking and glue it or tape it down.

The second way to create a vision board is through the digital route such as a laptop or tablet. There are many available design programs like Canva, PicsArt, ProCreate, and Google Art to get creative. Use the previously mentioned apps to discover your favorite images. Proceed to put the images together in a clean canvas by either layering them or spreading them out. The beauty of a vision board is that you can do whatever you like with it— have fun with it!

Put It Somewhere You Can See It

The key to a successful board is to place it somewhere you can see it on a daily basis so that it can remind you of what you want to achieve. Whether you use it as a wallpaper on your phone, tablet, or laptop, or printing it and placing it somewhere within your daily line of interaction. Maybe even all of the above! The key is to look at it as often as possible.

Over time, you will find that your board requires some updates and that’s totally fine. You might accomplish certain goals, or change some that might not fit your wants and needs anymore. Whatever the reason is, feel free to make changes to it. In fact, feel free to start from scratch if you find that your current vision board no longer works for you.

At the end of the day, there is no right or wrong way to create a vision board. Just put it out into the universe. Say it out loud. Manifest it! Own it! And like this TikTok sounds says,“the girls that get it, get it! And the girl’s that don’t, don’t!”

If you decide to make your vision board, feel free to share it with me. I would love to see what you have set for yourself. With that being said, I wish you a healthy, wealthy and successful 2022 filled with happiness, positivity and love. May you thrive and get everything you manifest.
