As if being a singer and actor wasn’t enough for Harry Styles, he just added something else to his resume: a beauty brand. That’s right, Pleasing is finally here! Pleasing has been being teased for a while now, with Styles sporting Pleasing apparel while walking the streets. But, it wasn’t until there were Pleasing billboards outside the singer’s show in Glendale, Arizona on November 13th that fans started to freak out.
Pleasing includes nail polish with The Perfect Polish Set, Perfect Pearl Polish, and Pearly Tops Polish and skin care with The Pleasing Pen and The Pearlescent Illuminating Serum. In The Perfect Polish Set, there are four different polishes: Perfect Pearl (a pearly white), Pearly Tops (clear with a matte finish), Inky Pearl (black with deep blue and glossy finish) and Granny’s Pink Pearls (the perfect pink color). All Pleasing products are vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free and are operated in an economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable manner. From someone who has been getting her nails done for four years, I will be getting rid of my acrylics to try out these polishes.
Styles spoke to Dazed Magazine about his new line, “‘I think we have an opportunity to make something really cool, a company that operates in a completely different way,’ he says. ‘I think the true DNA of Pleasing is about working with talented people who might not necessarily have the light shone on them, and collaborating.’” Styles also revealed in his interview with Dazed that his motivation for Pleasing were his fans,“‘I also think that what this can become is so much more than just products you can buy. I think it’s about giving, and giving back. I am blessed to have fans who are so supportive of me, who believe in freedom and who have created this safe space for each other. Pleasing is really for them.’” Fans were able to have early access to the polish and even get their nails done with the polish at a salon in Los Angeles when Pleasing held a pop-up. “It’s so good!” Megan Arbeeny, 17, raved, who painted her nails with The Perfect Polish Sets after getting it at the pop-up. Arbeeny also mentioned to Her Campus how the Pleasing pop-up truck gave her a bunch of free Pleasing stickers, that fans may recognize from being on the back of Styles’ phone case. Fans who weren’t able to attend the pop-up promoted Pleasing in other ways, like posing next to the Pleasing billboards in New York City. Supporters of the singer aren’t the only ones enjoying the new brand. Different celebrities and influences have received Pleasing PR Packages, from Lizzo to Role Model to Kim Kardashian.
While you may have to wait to “find your pleasing” until pre-orders ship the week of November 29th, Pleasing will be a perfect gift to family members for the holidays, or even just for yourself. I know I am anticipating the arrival of my Perfect Polish Set and to paint my nails just like Styles.
