How are you involved on campus?
I am a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, and a freelance reporter for the Long Island Report. Writing for Thursday Nite Live is also a hobby.
What kinds of honors have you received?
Accepted into the Society of Collegiate Journalists.
How you are you involved off campus?
Through Hofstra organizations I’ve joined, I participate in many community service events off campus, including the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and Special Olympics.
What kind of journalism job/internship experience do you have?
I freelanced with Long Island Metro, a daily magazine that informs the people of places to go for entertainment on Long Island.
What the hardest thing about being a journalist?
The time commitment. In order to get a great story, you have to be willing to put a lot of free time into it in order to give the story more potential.
What is the most rewarding?
When someone tells you that they read a piece of your work, it’s rewarding to know that people are interested in what you have to say to them.
What is your dream job?
Writing for Rolling Stone Magazine, or any other music magazine.
Any advice for aspiring writers/journalists?
Be prepared to put a lot of effort into your work. Also, prepare to fail sometimes; having a story not get printed because of errors is bound to happen. You have to learn from your mistakes and move on.
