Fall Style Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.

So we may not have been sitting front row at the runway shows around the world for fashion week, but that does not mean we will be missing out on this season’s up and coming trends at Bucknell. The fall season officially started last week, so here is a quick guide to keep you right on trend as the weather gets cooler and the leaves start turning.

Fashion: With so many different looks, there is sure to be a fall fashion trend for every type of girl. Bold florals, African safari prints, neon colors, touches of lace, and polka dots have all hit the runways.  You really can’t go wrong this fall.  Try new colors or pair two unlikely patterns; you may be surprised at how stylish you look!

Hair: If you’re seeking a low maintenance hair routine this season, you’re going to love the looks of fall. If your hair is unruly and will not cooperate, throw it into a loose side braid for a chic yet relaxed look. For a slightly more sophisticated look, sweet chignons or buns are elegant and easy to create, which are great for dressing up your look. If you’re feeling really adventurous, chop off your locks and rock an asymmetrical bob, like Diana Agron or Brooklyn Decker!

Makeup: This fall is all about a nude look with makeup–appearing as fresh and natural as possible with lighter shades. If you’re looking to go out and want an edgier style, try a smokey eye with a hint of color.  Dark purples or deep blues play up your natural eye color and look great for a night out.

Nails: Metallics are all over the place right now, especially nail polishes. The best thing about metallic is the variety of options and colors. You can go for a traditional silver or gold, or you can branch out with metallic blues or pinks. Take a risk; fall is all about trying new things!

Cameron is a senior at Bucknell University pursuing degrees in English and Theatre. Born and raised in suburban Philadelphia, she is a member of Delta Gamma sorority and recently spent a semester abroad in London (tea and scones galore!). Her favorite things include (but are not limited to) anything with the word "coffee" in it, her two shih tzus, peppermint gum, reality tv, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, dancing, staying active, and singing. Her claim to fame? She was a street shoutout on the show "Cash Cab".
