We all know it and we all do it. Pouring over textbooks, lecture notes and preparing for tests can take a toll on your brain. Instead of munching on chips and candy, give yourself the fuel you need to stay focuses and absorb what you learn in the classroom. Not to mention how they will be benefit you in the long run!

1. Milk and Yogurt

Low-fat dairy products are packed with protein and B vitamins that may help you concentrate and work efficiently. Non-fat Greek Yogurt is super high in protein and no added sugar. Milk and yogurt are filled with vitamin D to support memorization for that last minute cramming!

2. Blueberries

Blueberries are packed with antioxidants and helps maintain peak brain performance. Blueberries also help to improve memorization and learning. As an added bonus, blueberries are the perfect snack for a Sunday afternoon struggling to study while hung over.

3. Walnuts

All nuts are good brain food but walnuts are proven to be the best munch while studying.  Who knew that eating a handful of walnuts a day could make you perform better during tests? Pack a little baggy full of walnuts, almonds and cashews before you head to the library and not only are they delicious but they are a healthy low calorie alternative to other salty snacks.

4. Dark green veggies

Whether your pondering around the grocery store, or staring at the salad bar at HoCo be sure to put some green veggies on your plate to improve your brain function. Spinach, asparagus and broccoli are key ingredients to fuel your brain and also your body. They give you energy to stay up complete those annoying daily tasks.

5. Best of all …. CHOCOLATE!

Yes ladies, you can still get your sweet tooth fix with some chocolate. However, not all chocolate is created equal. Stick to dark chocolate and no more than a few squares. Not only does it help while studying but it also can be used as a reward once finished with a chapter of reading. Try putting a Hershey Kiss at the end of each chapter, when you finish your readings; reward yourself with the little taste of heaven!
