Ah, it’s December, the best month of the year. It’s a time of holiday cheer, friends, and finals. Now, the only thing standing between five weeks of winter fun is those dreaded final exams. Don’t stress out too much! In between studying, there are several things you can do to get you through the next week.
- CHECK OUT PUPPY PALOOZA.
This Monday at Stamp in the Grand Ballroom, Stamp Entertainment Events and SGA are bring puppies for your stress relief. This event will be taking place from 11-1. So take a break from your Monday and come play with some cuddly Puppies!
2. DO NOT CRAM
Instead of reviewing everything at once, start studying a few days before the exam. This way, you wont feel so much anxiety about absorbing as much information as possible. Studying in advance also leaves time for emailing your instructors if any questions arise.
- INDULGE
What makes you happy? Is watching an episode of Honey Boo Boo or Glee your guilty pleasure? If so, now is the perfect time to indulge. After studying hard, take a study break and watch your favorite tv show or movie. Go to the nail salon. Eat a yummy dessert. Call your friend from home.
- INVEST IN SELF- CONTROL
Have you heard of self-control?? It’s a website that blocks you from websites of your choosing such as Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter. Even if you restart your computer and delete the app, you wont be able to access these sites until the time runs out. That way, Facebook can be used to treat yourself to some well thought out studying instead of as a tool for procrastination.
- TRY SOME YOGA
Yoga is a popular stress relieving activity. So every half hour, do some breathing exercises and a downward dog or two, and let your body just relax. If Yoga isn’t your thing, shake down with some Zumba! This week, Mckeldin Library will also be offering 15 minute Zumba classes at 11p.m on Wednesday and Thursday, the 11th and 12th.
