The New Year arrived with numerous resolutions made by millions of people. However, when spring comes around many people lose sight of their goals and live their new year like the previous one. 1. Keep reminders.
Set goals that are realistic and achievable. If your goal is to lose weight, don’t tell yourself that you want to lose 100 pounds. Come on now, that is unrealistic. Instead write your goal specifically so that you can see what you are working toward each day.
Then write down motivational phrases on sticky notes to place them in different places of your room, work space, or even next to a remote. You can make these colorful and spunky to become enthusiastic and excited each time you see one. A cool idea can be to take a picture of yourself partaking in your resolution each day and posting it on your social media sites, blog, or making it into a calendar for the next year to keep you motivated. Also by keeping an organizer of some sort, like a daily planner, grocery list, or journal to write what your goal is for the next day, it is less difficult to achieve your goal.

2. Take baby steps.Â
If you plan on receiving an A in all your classes or go to the gym more often, it doesn’t happen with a week of intense studying and working out. Instead try taking baby steps. For a week set an hour aside to study for each class based on your daily schedule. Then make sure that nothing will come in the way of you and your homework. Then prioritize the classes that require more studying near the beginning of the week and those that need less time and effort near the end of the week so your weekends are less stressful. Continue adjusting your schedule based on efficiency and study areas as well to keep your grades up and your boredom with homework low.
You can use the same idea with exercise or any other resolution by beginning the year with a comfortable pace and incrementally intensifying the routines with some changes to the methods to keep things interesting.
3. Share your goals
Let your family and friends know what you would like to change or improve about you for 2013. Tell them so that they can assist and support you throughout the year. Who knows? Maybe you will inspire them to strive for the same goal you have and then you have a buddy. Accountability partners can really assist in making changes. You can even post all your ideas of resolutions on Facebook, Twitter, and maybe even Pinterest.
4. Treat yourself for being successful
Whether it’s a fattening food or a relaxing weekend, reward yourself once a month for staying on track with your resolution. That means that you will have twelve rewards throughout the year. To make these rewards more fun and surprising, have one of the people you told your resolution to plan what your reward is for each month. Then you can have another motivation to follow through with your resolution and you have someone not let you cheat.
