Hofstra’s Halloween Events

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

It’s that time of the year again folks. That special day of the year when you can dress up as anything or anyone, stash up on free candy and possibly be scared half to death; IT’S HALLOWEEN! Want to have a great time but don’t want to travel far or spend a lot of cash? Hofstra has a ton of events the whole week of Halloween free or relatively inexpensive which will ensure a great time!

Strictly Steppin’, Hofstra’s only step team, has a surprise in store for you and the only way to find out is to attend “Night of Mystery, Strictly Reveal” on Friday October 25th at 6pm in multipurpose room east. Only $1 to attend. Following the reveal Strictly Steppin’ is hosting “A Night of Horror” costume party at Hofstra USA. Dance the night away with your friends for only $5 for Hofstra students, reduced price if you wear a costume.

If you attended Freak Formal last year you know an action packed night is in store. On Saturday October 26th join Hofstra Concerts, Alpha Phi and Entertainment Unlimited for a night of great dj’s, costumes and a guest artist, who we’re all anxiously waiting to find out about, at Hofstra USA. First 100 students to buy a ticket pay the reduced price of $10 so make sure you stop by their atrium table in the student center today.

On Halloween night Hofstra has quite a few events to choose from. The Black Student Union is hosting their annual manhunt at 8:00pm on the academic side of campus. Spend the night dodging through the darkness in the ultimate thrilling experience. Last one to get caught is crowned winner.

Hofstra hosts Fright Night beginning at 8pm. Get your Halloween basket ready for all of the free goodies, candy, cotton candy, churros and more. Sign up for a game of Alien Zombie Laser Tag, catch the outdoor movie showing of Halloween and even create your own jack-o’-lantern to light up the quad. Did I mention this is a free event?

Make your Halloween memorable and safe by taking advantage of Hofstra’s new night shuttle, running from 10p.m.-5a.m., if you live near campus.
