Last week while scrolling through his blog I found one that really stood out. “Beware of the anger in the body. Master the body. Let it serve truth.” You can look at that quote from a million different angles, but getting in touch with your body spiritually is what is needed to find an understanding of one self.
Working on a different yoga pose every Monday is a great way to understand yourself. There is something about stretching certain muscles a certain way that can depict what sort of day it will be. Warrior One is a great pose to stretch your legs and your heart! With your front leg directly over your ankle, and your hands high above you, you can take a few breaths here focusing on stillness. As you straighten your back leg and lunge the front one forward you will start to feel in control. With what looks like a simple pose, there are so many variations you could do with it to continue challenging yourself. Putting a hand on the floor and stretching the other one to the sky turns it into an extended side angle pose.
