What is one word of advice on adjustment for soon to be graduates?

Enjoy.  Senior year can be incredibly stressful.  Emotions are high…you’re wondering where you’ll end up in the coming months…finding the right balance between academics, extracurriculars, and your social life is literally impossible…your senior year bucket list keeps growing but time is quickly slipping away… Just take a deep breath and enjoy yourselves.  Don’t let the stress get to you, no matter how overwhelming it can be – once the smoke clears you’ll regret having wasted your time panicking over nothing.

How doyou keep in touch with your friends and Bucknell past while continuing to move forward?

Well…I live with two other Bucknellians in NYC, where it seems at least half of my graduating class wound up.  I’ve run into former classmates while walking around and have definitely formed a “Bucknell in NYC” crew.  Being in a city that must be the complete opposite of Lewisburg keeps me feeling like a real grown-up but having so many familiar faces certainly helps with my adjustment factor.

On the other hand, what do you miss the most about Bucknell?

Oh my…I’m seriously restraining myself here and picking one thing: How beautiful and colorful everything is.  Everything in the city is a horrible mixture of black, brown, and gray.  I’ve done literally everything in my power to surround myself (even more than usual!!) in bright colors, but nothing holds a candle to Bucknell’s gorgeous campus.

What has the real world taught you that Bucknell never did?

It’s normal to not be crazy busy and sleep is good.

On the other hand again, what did Bucknell teach you that you continue to carry forward?

My work ethic.  I definitely thank my years at Bucknell for teaching me to always push myself farther than I probably should and for constantly forcing me to learn something new.

What are your career aspirations as of now?

I’ve really loved working with and learning about Nielsen’s TV ratings system for the past six months.  That’s all I’ve got for now…ask me in another six months!
