Hey Oles! In the midst of awards season, we are constantly bombarded with the latest news regarding the year’s top films. But what about the movies that are yet to come? There are plenty of great films being released this spring to look forward to; here are just a few of them to put on your calendar. Enjoy!

Friday, February 28: Non-Stop

Liam Neeson stars in this upcoming action film as Bill Marks, a U.S. federal air marshal who receives a text during an international flight declaring that every 20 minutes a passenger will be killed unless $150 million is transferred to a mysterious bank account. The situation becomes even more complicated when it is revealed that the bank account is under Marks’s name. Julianne Moore, Michelle Dockery and Lupita Nyong’o of 12 Years A Slave fame also star.

Friday, February 28: The Wind Rises

Directed by the renowned Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle), The Wind Rises tells the story of a young boy whose love for airplanes leads to an influential career in aviation. The English dub cast features A-List talents Joseph Gordon-Levitt, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt and Darren Criss among others. With an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature already on the table, this film is sure to be a hit both in its home country of Japan as well as America.

Friday, March 21: Divergent

Based on the bestselling novel by Veronica Roth, Divergent focuses on the life of Beatrice Prior, a teenager living in a futuristic Chicago. In order to maintain peace, society is divided into five factions based on the population’s personalities and values, but Beatrice discovers mounting tensions as she undergoes training to join her faction, as well as a secret that could endanger everything she’s fought for. The Divergent series has already gained a cult following similar to that of Twilight and The Hunger Games, so expect to see long lines outside the theater on opening night!

Friday, March 28: Noah

Noah tells the incredible biblical tale of Noah building an ark to save his family from a disastrous flood. Russell Crowe stars as the famed historical figure, with Jennifer Connelly as his wife and Logan Lerman and Emma Watson as two of his children (Perks of Being a Wallflower throwback, anyone?). The visual effects are sure to be stunning, as the film was shot in various locations in Iceland, and the entire animal kingdom was manufactured using film technology.

Wednesday, April 16: Heaven Is for Real

Heaven Is for Real is based on the inspiring true story of four-year-old Colton, who believes that he experienced Heaven while undergoing emergency surgery. Colton’s community is unwilling to accept his account of the conversations he held with God and members of his deceased family, although his parents slowly begin to realize that there is a chance Colton may have truly done the unimaginable and gone to Heaven. Greg Kinnear stars as Pastor Todd Burpo, Colton’s father who struggles throughout the film to believe his son’s tale.

Friday, May 2: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will reprise their roles as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy in this sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. Peter Parker continues to fight crime in the city while maintaining his image of normalcy at high school, although the arrival of two new crooks forces him to face the root of all of his problems. Jamie Foxx joined the cast as Electro, one of the central antagonists who becomes a threat to Peter and the city. Even if you aren’t a fan of superhero movies, it’s at least worth checking out to see the adorable chemistry between Andrew and Emma!

Friday, May 9: Neighbors

In need of a good laugh? Neighbors, starring Zac Efron, Dave Franco, Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne has you covered. Rogen and Byrne play a young couple who have recently moved into a new neighborhood, only to have the lot next door purchased and turned into a fraternity house. Soon, it’s the frat guys (Efron and Franco) versus Rogen and Byrne with their newborn baby in a battle for their spot in the neighborhood. Did I mention that Zac Efron and Dave Franco are in this movie?
