Calling all “Law & Order: SVU” watchers and Hunger Games lovers (aka, the majority of the population)! Did you watch this week’s episode of “Law & Order: SVU”? If so, you’re already familiar with the band i’m about to talk about. Phantogram’s song, Black Out Days, was playing at the begining of the most recent episode. Their song Lights was also featured in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack! Band members Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel have been friends since junior high school. In 2007, Sarah returned home from college after deciding not to pursue a visual arts degree. She met back up with Josh and they finished songs that Josh had started but never finished. The two were originally called Charlie Everywhere but then changed their name to Phantogram in 2009. They released an album and an EP soon after. Before releasing more music, they worked with Big Boi from Outkast on his record Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. Phantogram is also featured on the song You Lust from The Flaming Lips newest album. The band has performed at various festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and many more. Their newest album, Voices, has a sound like no other. I can’t quite put my finger on it but it is a sound all their own. It can be purchased on iTunes, and is also available on Spotify!  Check out their music video for their song Fall In Love below!
