Let’s Start Cooking: the Baking Society Presents the City Bakery

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at City London chapter.

The Baking Society at City University London has a brand new kitchen and members are very thrilled to make the most of it. They are also inviting students to sign up to the society with “CU Baking Soc presents: The City Bakery” posters all over the campus.

The kitchen lies very close to the university at Central Street Cookery School, which is a 2-minute walk from Northampton Square.  The CULSU Baking Society announced the new facilities saying: “Believe us when we say it’s a really nice place!”

The society started only last November and the kitchen facilities were made available to them just recently – with the very first baking session at the new kitchen taking place on the 31st of March.

Lessons are free to all members of the society. The membership costs £3 and attendees are provided with everything they need, including ingredients and kitchen utensils.

The Baking Society’s gatherings allow members to bond over flour, sugar and rolling pins, while those who have not the pleasure of baking anything in their lives were given free lessons. The society aims to gather both bakers and amateurs together to share tips and recipes. They also open bake-off challenges and competitions.

The society promises more baking sessions and lessons before the end of the term. So, as the Baking Society says, “Happy baking!”
