Shiri Levine and Liz Baldwin are the dynamic duo behind Bucknell’s wildly successful ACE campus events team. In light of this weekend’s ACE-sponsored Fall Fest and concert, let’s take a look at what these women do on staff, at events, and around campus!

For those who don’t know already, what is ACE all about?

Shiri: ACE plans and organizes campus events every weekend that anyone on campus can come to! Huge highly anticipated events like CenterStage, Fall Fest, Chrysalis, BU After Dark, and more are all put on by ACE!

Liz: ACE is all about planning fun weekend events that the whole campus can enjoy! We do a lot of traditional events, and also smaller events like Just Desserts. Those are some of my favorite because we can come up with a crazy concept and see it come to life!

What is the most rewarding aspect of leading the ACE team?

Shiri: Being a part of an awesome organization that genuinely wants to create amazing events and does so every year.

Liz: I love seeing really productive brainstorming sessions, hearing the most ridiculous ideas, and watching someone make them happen. There is nothing better then that!

What can we expect next from you?

Shiri: A sick CenterStage with one or maybe 2 hilarious comedians, cookie dough on a stick, soup in bread bowls, and of course, s’mores!

Liz: As VP HR I am working really closely with our new General Members! I’m not planning any events myself this year, but I will be living vicariously through our Programming Board and our new ACErs! I will be working to make sure that ACE is the best possible experience for everyone involved.

If you could go to one ACE event for the entire semester, which one would it be and why?

Shiri: BU After Dark! Because bounce houses and funnel cake.

Liz: Chrysalis! Who doesn’t love what is essentially a bar mitzvah for college students??? Seeing everyone on campus enjoying the efforts of all our hard work is amazing.

Cookie dough on a stick or chocolate fountain?

Shiri: Cookie dough on a stick dipped in the chocolate fountain.

Liz: Cookie dough on a stick of course!

Fun Facts:

Shiri:

  1. I love Chrysalis but hate getting dressed up.
  2. I once came up with an idea of an ACE event based solely on my favorite foods from other events (Best of ACE in the Student Space)…thankfully it was a hit so hopefully it can happen again.
  3. I cried on the Ferris wheel during Fall Fest because I forgot I was afraid of heights.

Liz:

  1. Last year I ordered breakfast for dinner at 2 events…just because I wanted to.
  2. I think that cleaning up after Chrysalis is more fun than the actual event.
  3. I’ve never actually eaten a turkey leg at Fall Fest, but I have taken lots of pictures with them!
  4. Ordering $900 of As Seen on TV products for one of my events last semester was probably one of the most fun things I’ve ever done.
  5. I basically live in the CAP Center.
