If you weren’t at College Fashion Week in New York City Saturday night you really missed out! I was excited for this event, but it well beyond exceeded my expectations. Her Campus, alongside sponsors Boohoo, TRESemmé, European Wax Center, Simon Premium Outlets, and Luna put on an AMAZING night.
After hours of getting ready, a train ride, and a short subway trip, some of the Her Campus Hofstra team and I arrived at the venue, Santos Party House in SoHo. The atmosphere was set as soon as you walked in. The main room was set up perfectly. Aside from the stage and VIP seating, boohoo set up a “closet” for attendees to check out the clothing to be previewed in the show. European Wax Center (my go-to brow place, they’re amazing!) also had an area set up to do brow touch ups.
Walking downstairs we were beyond amazed. Coming down the stairs, there was a photo area set up with a Her Campus backdrop, the perfect place for a photo-op. Beyond that was another room. There was so much going on I had no idea what to do first. On the left TRESemmé had a mini hair salon set up where they were doing hair for anyone who wanted to get it done. One of my favorite things was the photo booth, which wasn’t the typical photo booth. It was more like a photo shoot, and we had way too much fun with it. BareMinerals was there with FREE foundation, and makeup artists to match you with the correct shade. Other fun things included free manicures, and a photographer taking headshots.
Once it was time for the show to start everyone headed into the main room and crowded the stage. This is where we got to see some amazing performances. Before the show started, Nicole DaRosa and Olivia King hit the stage to perform and both girls were so amazingly talented. Other performers throughout the night included Columbia Sharp, an adorable all male acapella group from Columbia (girls, I may have to transfer. Cute, smart, and talented!) and we also saw the Columbia girls dance team who left me speechless, they were so good!
Onto the clothing, boohoo fashion is adorable. Split into three categories: Imperial, Brooklyn Princess, and Woodlanders, each scene was very different, and very stylish. The models (who were all normal college girls) rocked some of today’s hottest styles.
Seriously such a great night, and I suggest everyone checks it out next year.
