In college, there will always be the days when you are on the run. It’s easier to grab a quick nutrigrain bar rather than be late to class because you were making an extravagant meal. Although it may seem like you don’t have enough time to cook, the truth is that you can always have the time to make dorm room dinners quick and easy.

1) Easy Mac Kraft Macaroni and Cheese

You can buy this convenience at the nearest Target or Wal-Mart. Inside are 6 single serve pockets that can be your dinner or lunch for the following week. It is inexpensive and the steps are simple. Pour macaroni in a microwavable bowl, add 2/3 cup of water then microwave for three to four minutes. After add the cheese sauce with the water in the bowl and mix well. In four minutes you have your dinner ready. Eat while watching a show or reading some notes and enjoy.

2) Smoothies

It is time to invest in a blender! Go out to the nearest Stop and Shop and buy some greens, fruits, and seeds or nuts. When you get home you can cut up the fruits and put some leafy greens in the blender along with half a cup of water, then blend. Not only is this meal quick and simple, but it is also filling. A smoothie is easy to carry around when on the go, but will not leave you feeling empty. The fruits and greens that are not finished being used can return to the fridge for another smoothie another time.

3) Scrambled/ Over easy/ Poached Eggs

Eggs? How can eggs be dinner if they’re used for breakfast? Scrambled or poached eggs can substitute as an easy-to-make dinner. Take out the small pan and cook one or two eggs the way you prefer. You can add a dash of pepper or vegetables to give an extra taste. Then place on a plate. You can heat up some tortillas to go along with the meal and it will be complete.

It is easier than one may think to create simple meals. These can be homemade or microwavable; as long as they’re tasty and get the job done. Try any of these out tonight!
