Hey Oles! With the year beginning to wind down, it can be fun to take a look back at everything that has happened over the past twelve months, especially in regards to the entertainment industry. From celebrity weddings and strange fashion statements to incredible performances, 2014 has truly been a year that will go down in the books. Here are a few of the biggest and most outrageous moments you may have forgotten about.

1. Ellen DeGeneres took the most star-studded selfie ever.

Ellen’s snapshot of herself surrounded by Hollywood A-listers such as Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Brad Pitt at the Academy Awards broke a record for becoming the most retweeted picture of all time and literally put Twitter out of commission for a few hours as users rushed to spread the picture.

2. Pharrell Williams wore his now-iconic hat to the Grammys.

Williams has now sported various colors of this same hat to multiple other awards shows. What’s hiding underneath it? We may never know.

3. Shia Labeouf apologized to the world for his strange behavior in an art installation titled #IAMSORRY.

The megastar drew considerable attention for his performance art display, in which he sat in a room with a paper bag over his head and allowed the public to enter and sit across from him, with the option of using one of the provided objects relating to his movie career in their interaction.

4. How I Met Your Mother aired its final episode.

The popular sitcom’s fanbase was not pleased with the ending, to say the least.

5. Solange and Jay-Z got in a brawl in an elevator after the Met Gala.

Queen Bey’s little sister and husband’s tussle spurred rumors of trouble in paradise for the power couple, which were promptly shut down by a killer performance by Beyonce at the VMAs.

6. Beyonce stole the show at the MTV Video Music Awards.

In a medley of her most popular songs, Beyonce closed out the 2014 VMAs and effectively blew everybody’s minds while doing so. Jay-Z and Blue Ivy came to congratulate her onstage afterwards and hearts across the world burst as they cemented their status as the perfect celebrity family.

7. Justin Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach.

After several run-ins with the law without any consequences, Bieber was arrested for driving under the influence, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest without violence.

8. Emma Watson delivered her speech on feminism and gender equality at the U.N.

Everyone’s favorite scholarly wizard made great strides in the fight for gender equality in her speech for He For She, a new campaign encouraging men to get on board with the feminist movement.

9. Noah Ritter “apparently” went on a ride at the county fair.

If you haven’t seen the viral video of Ritter’s interview with a local news station about his experience on the ride, you’ve apparently got a lot of catching up to do.

10. Kim and Kanye tied the knot.

The couple had one of the most extravagant weddings of the year, with Bachelorette parties in Paris and the ceremony taking place in Florence, Italy. John Legend performed his hit “All of Me” and Kanye himself even took the stage, to the delight of guests.
