For most of us, it will take some adjusting to get back to our school rhythm after a nice, long holiday. The cold weather and the prospect of tedious lectures just make you want to curl up in bed with with a cup of cocoa and not leave the comfort of your home. But alas, we have no choice. It’s time to brave the winter colds and head to school. Here are our tips for getting back to the groove of things:

Make sure you’ve signed up for all the correct courses: WebOodi can be confusing at times, so double check that you’ve signed up for everything and calculate that you have enough credits coming in after May.

Draw up a timetable: Once you have those course sign-ups done, list them on a timetable with the classrooms and times written clearly. There’s nothing worse than showing up to first class late and not even knowing if you’re in the right place!

Start using that thermos: If you have a thermos, USE IT! The warm drink will make the transition from home to outside so much easier, and keep you awake in class.

Remember to dress up warmly: it’s easy to forget the cold in the warmth of your living room, but do dress up in plenty of layers when heading outside! A nasty flu is the last thing you need right now.

Don’t exhaust yourself right from the start: it’s easy to get too eager about taking new classes in the beginning of the year but remember that after a few weeks, it won’t feel as easy breezy anymore!

Get a new calendar for the new year: keep those deadlines all written down in the same place!

…and remember, HAVE A GOOD ATTITUDE! Positivity will help a long way, especially when it comes to studying.
