Okay, we’ve all heard it before. To get a job in the “real world” you need experience. You may have already had an internship, but maybe it wasn’t the right one for you. Or maybe you just changed your major and you’re stressed out wondering how you’re going to get job experience to put on your empty resume before graduation. On top of everything else, you avoid checking your bank account because it’s a miracle if it’s in the double digits this week. Panicking yet? Well stop right there because I have the solution! Believe it or not companies are looking for students like YOU to hire. It’s true, often companies have just as hard of a time looking for new interns or employees as you do resisting the urge to hit the “keep watching” button on Netflix when you know you have to study. So we have the problem, but where is the solution? www.campusjob.com ! Their slogan bright and bold at the top of their website is literally “Let’s get you hired.”
Well thank goodness we’re on the same page. When I first heard about it, I thought “ugh this is going to be such a drag, filling out all this information just to start sifting through a bunch of weird jobs I’m not even eligible for” but my experience was the complete opposite. Within 5 minutes of searching the site, I had created a profile complete with basic info, a headshot, and a resume. Another 10 minutes later and I had applied for 4 different PAID job opportunities. That’s 4 jobs, 15 minutes if you want me to spell it out for you. The best part about all of this? It’s FREE! (100% no strings attached, Free) I don’t know about you but I know the ones who are sitting here scared to check their bank accounts are thankful for that.
What I’m saying is there’s basically no excuse to not check out the website, make a profile, and simply click “apply” to any jobs that spark your interest! It’s time to stop complaining about your lack of experience and start doing something to fill up your resume and your wallet at the same time.
Added bonus: one of our very own HerCampus writers is also the ambassador for campus jobs and has a referral code you can use: www.campusjob.com/refer/taylord. Happy job searching, collegiates!
