Max Whittington-Cooper

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Harvard chapter.

Spring semester has sprung, though it may not feel like it with so much snow and cold. But fret not young Harvard romantics, because I’ve found a fiery demon of handsome wonder to warm your frozen hearts during this dark, icy time. Without further ado, I present to you this week’s Campus Cutie: the musically gifted, disarmingly witty, and devastatingly handsome Maxwell Whittington Cooper, also known as MaxwellWC, of Instagram.

Who: Maxwell WC (of Instagram)

House: Quincy

Hometown: Larchmont, New York

Concentration: Sociology

Describe yourself in 3 words: Tenacious, authentic, positive

Favorite HUDS meal:

I think I actually have to go Chicken Parm.

If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be and why?

Mint, cause it’s like . . .  (Max pauses and thinks deeply with hands grasped, eyes looking dreamily into the distance) . . .  it’s like serious but also mad fun. It also makes you have good breath (winks).

What are you involved in on campus?

I’m on the HUTF events and strategy board, because I’m very interested in television. I’m also a  member of the Harvard Real Estate Club, and the Barry’s Boot Camp Campus Rep.

Barry’s Boot Camp? What is that?

It’s an intense training workout class that involves cardio and weight training…it’s kind of like a new take on workouts, like crossfit but with a greater focus on the cardio. The gym is kind of like a club environment and it’s really fun, with lots of good music.

Where is it?

Downtown crossing, as soon as you get off the T. You should do it, it has unbelievable discounts. A lot of celebrities do it, it’s definitely popular.

Is it just for advanced, physically fit specimens like yourself, or can beginners do it?

It’s for anyone who loves good music, hard workouts, or people trying to switch up their workouts. Beginners or advanced, its all great. You always have someone pushing you. That’s why it works.

Back to Harvard. What is your favorite Harvard memory thus far?

Performing Isn’t She Lovely for Janelle Monae at Celebrating Black Women, 2014.

So are you musical?

Yeah, I’m actually kind of working on an album now. I used to be in Harvard Club X acapella group, but I’m not doing that currently. But yeah, love love love singing and music, stuff like that.

So is it true that you’re a Youtube star?

I don’t know (laughs). I like to think I’m on the come up on Instagram though.

NOTE: He’s #teamfollowback. .

Now let’s get serious — for all the thirsty Harvard ladies out there, are you currently available?

I’m not. Taken. I’m cuffed (laughs).

What do you look for in a significant other?

A good sense of humor, someone who’s trustworthy, beauty of course, and someone who’s easy to talk to.

What is your best physical trait?

Ooo, I’ve like never thought of this actually. I’m gonna have to go with my lips, yeah my lips.

Interesting. Do you think your lips rival Tom Brady’s?

Absolutley. You better watch out tonight [at the Superbowl], the close up will have nothing on me.

Who do you consider to be your celebrity look alike?

People tell me I look like MaxwellWC of Instagram.

Describe your ideal Valentine’s Day.

Oooh god. Ok. (Thinks). I have something very special planned but I can’t reveal too much because I don’t wanna spoil the surprise for my girl (queue resounding aww).

What’s on your Harvard bucket list?

I want to jump into the river.

Favorite song:

Loyal, Chris Brown ft. Lil Wayne and French Montanna.

Favorite movie:

Citizen Kane.

Favorite Quote:

“I’m not a businessman, I’m a business, man” — Jay Z

Surprising fact about you:

Something that most people don’t know is that I helped start a micro finance corporation my junior year in high school.

Most exciting moment of your life:

When I first became a SAG actor and I did my first independent film. That was really exciting.

Oooh, what’s the name of the film?

Will and Ruins. Hasn’t been released yet.

Most embarrassing moment of your life:

I get mostly embarrassed when I’m like working or doing something serious . . . like one time I was acting in a show, we had rehearsed maybe like 100 times, I had gone through it over and over, and in my final showing I skipped over a whole page of the script. Luckily the lighting crew and people were able to help me notice it and it was ok in the end, but I was really really embarrassed in the moment because I felt like I had let the team down.

What are you most proud of?

My family.

Your quirkiest trait is:

I can move my ears without touching them.

At any given moment, you are most likely to be found where on campus?

The Quincy house basement gym. (laughs).
