How To Have An Awesome Summer! #HCSurvival Kits #CelebrateYourself

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Amherst chapter.

Let’s face it, everyone is thinking about summer right now.  Finals week is steadily approaching but who really wants to think about that right now?  Whether you are thinking about your vacation, your internship, seeing your family and pets at home or just celebrating the fact that you conquered that exam, Celebrate Yourself with Her Campus Amherst.

We have a few cards where you can write what your celebrating before summer starts sent to us by the National HC Chapter. Our ever-so-loving National Chapter and their sponsors also sent us some goodies to help us make this summer the best ever.  Luckily for you, we are willing to share.

Update your wardrobe!

Don’t be ashamed that you don’t like your current outfits anymore.  You are a growing and changing collegiette who’s fashion sense is destined to alter too.  A few new pieces to your collection like a casual red dress for a daytime excursion or Bohemian style cardigans for chilly nights under the stars can make what seems like a dull wardrobe come alive.

Worried about the money it costs to get these items?  Her Campus teamed up with Boohoo Styles to give you a 30% discount with their exclusive code. This code also came along with fashion ideas and tan interview with one of the stylists.  Visit their Facebook @boohooUSA, Twitter @boohooUSA and Instagram @boohooOfficial to keep up with their updates and deals.

Another hip new accessory is Blink Tattoos where you use the temporary tattoos to excentuate your style.  You can imagine how the gold tattoos illuminate your sunkissed skin.  As we only received a pack of these, it will one of the first people to get our survival kit merchandise to receive these lovely tattoos.

Work Out

I’m sure your coach, gym teacher and Mom have told you the same thing….exercise is good for you!  The trek to LeFrak Gymnasium can become difficult during the year both because of distance and lack of time (#AmherstCollegeProblems)  Don’t despair!  You can always start working out at home.  Many workout gurus have begun to make YouTube accounts and online blogs to help people workout at home.  If you would like to get a professional trainer, HC Nationals teamed up with CRUNCH Live to give Her Campus Amherst readers a 30 day trial with their online program.  You would be able to access it from you laptop and any mobile device which means even if you are not near the gym over the summer you can still get a work out.  If you want to learn more about the program, follow Crunch on social media. Facebook: @Crunch Twitter: @CrunchGym and @CrunchGym

Start A Business

Don’t get scared.  I’m not asking you to pull a “The Social Network” drop out of Amherst and make the next biggest social media website (however, if you can, DO IT!).  I am suggesting that you should take advantage of the many ways that every day people can make a bit of money.  Whether by blogging about your daily life on YouTube, selling your knittings on Etsy or starting a babysitting business back home.  Everyone has some kind of talent and you can always use more to put a little extra cash in your pocket.  If you are still looking for your calling, you should try Chloe + Isabel.  If you are interested in fashion their GEM program provides college students with the opportunity to break into the fashion industry and become an entrepreneur. You can apply for their May class by the end of this week (deadline April 30th) with the Her Campus referral code so make sure to scroll at the bottom to find out how you can make that a reality.

If you need a little extra help in the financial business, you should check out Nicole Lapin’s book Rich Bitch! A Simple 12 Step Plan to Getting Your Financial Life Together…Finally.  We have several copies of this book so you can get one  for FREE.  Keep scrolling to find out how.  You can also find out more about Nicole Lapin from her social media. Her Facebook, Instagram and Twitter all have the same handle @NicoleLapin.

Eat Good Food

I don’t think this needed to be said, but I will remind you anyway.  EAT FOOD!  Since you will be home and working out with the new CRUNCH Live, you can explore with your tastebuds and try different cuisine.  When you want something a bit more familiar you should consider going to Chipotle.  Since HC Nationals and Chipotle always want you to bring a friend, they sent us a few of the BUY 1 GET 1 free cards once again.  As they are super popular you want to get them before they run out.

Take  It Easy

Seriously, relax.  Yes you maybe stressed because of your internship (or because you don’t have an internship), but take some time to breathe a bit.  Remember that Amherst can be quite daunting and you do need breaks to recharge.  Don’t sweat the little stuff.   Worried it will rain, just carry a little poncho.  Always losing your keys in your bag, put it on a keychain.  There is always a solution to every problem before it happens.  And if it does happen, just let it go.  Oh, and if you don’t have a little poncho or cute keychain, our #HCSurvival Kit  has that too.

Alright, How Do I Get This Awesome Stuff?

Chloe + Isabel promo code expires  this week, so we will reveal it here: ‘HER CAMPUS’. The survival kit is now housed in the Women and Gender Center in Keefe.  Stop by for chit-chat and also grab some of these amazing goodies.  If you have any questions or raving reviews on the free stuff post it on the Her Campus Amherst Facebook Page (Don’t forget to LIKE it)!
