This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JCU chapter.

You know him.

He’s probably swiped you into the caf, or you’ve gone back for a second helping of his International Station creations. You probably know him from his infamous twitter handle (@fatchris216). You’ve watched his music videos on YouTube while waiting for Cabby D on a drizzling Tuesday night. Anyone and everyone at JCU has heard of “Fat” Chris.

As of last Saturday, Chris has left his beloved Cleveland in pursuit of his dreams; he has moved to Miami, Fl, to pursue a career in music. He explained that by moving to Florida, his music will be exposed to a whole different market, and, hopefully, his career with take off.

Chris is no stranger to the music industry. He started performing in the early 200s, and since then, he has performed over 500 shows. He started getting into music when he was only 15 years old, when he witnessed his older brother listen to different kinds of music and decided on following in his footsteps. He describes his music as dealing with “reality, [it has] a ‘gotta use your headphones’ vibe”.

Chris was born and raised in Cleveland, and has been a proud Blue Streak since April 2009, when a friend of his who was working at Carroll suggested that Chris consider getting a job here too. Since then, he’s enjoyed his time at Carroll, and says his favorite part of working here has “definitely been the students. You gotta love them, they are so awesome.” His favorite memory at John Carroll was performing at Carroll Fest, back in 2011.

On leaving Cleveland, Chris says that the thing he’ll miss the most (besides Carroll, of course) are “his teams.” He explained that he’ll absolutely miss being about to go to a game whenever he wanted.

Looking towards the future, Chris is incredibly optimistic about what is in store for him. When asked about where he sees himself in 5 years, he answered enthusiastically, “on TV somewhere! I want to be someone that everybody knows.”

We will miss Chris terribly, and wish him all the best. And we’ll be watching our television screens, waiting for the day when we see that familiar face. And when he does make it big? Well, we’ll just have to sit back and enjoy the show.

You can follow him on twitter and instagram: @Fatchris216, and watch his music videos on youtube ‘fatchris.’
