Ah, October. Autumn leaves, pumpkin spice, and…midterms. That’s right, we’re about halfway through the semester! Papers are piling up, tests are everywhere, and midterm exams are looming ominously on the horizon. Unfortunately, with this dismal fall weather, it’s hard to force yourself to focus on the mountain of work that needs to be done. With these motivational quotes, you’ll be out of bed and conquering the assignments on your test in no time

“Be what you expect of yourself, not what others expect of you.”

You do you, collegiette! Don’t let anyone else set expectations for your own life. YOU are in control, so set some high goals and get moving!

“I like things to happen, and if they don’t happen, I like to make them happen.” ~Winston Churchill

Tired of sitting around waiting for your life to change? Spoiler alert: unless you take action, it won’t. Don’t waste time wishing for those “A” test grades; get the work done yourself!

“The artist must possess a courageous soul that dares and defies.” ~Kate Chopin, The Awakening

This advice isn’t just for artists, it’s for everyone! To break out of your slump, try something new. Dare to stay in and study instead of going out one night. Your grades will thank you.

“Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.” ~Pablo Picasso

Every collegiette knows the feeling of pushing work until a later date, but midterms are not the week to do it. Turn off your phone and study!

“Isn’t it nice to know that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?” LM Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

If all else fails and you weren’t as productive as you had hoped, don’t fret. Remember that tomorrow is a new day, and you can always start fresh then. So what are you waiting for? Get off your laptop and ace those midterms!
