Well, the time we have been anticipating is finally here. Midterms are over and it’s time to continue on with the semester.

I know what you’re thinking. We barely made it through the first half of the semester. How are we going to make it through the second half? You don’t need a miracle to get through the rest of the semester, but what you do need is to stay focused and positive.

Just because your midterms are done, does not mean that all homework comes to a stop. Doing homework is imperative to finishing the semester. I know that the newest season of Orange is the New Black is important too, but don’t put off your assignments. One missed assignment turns into two, which turns into four and then you’ll be in trouble.

Don’t forget that your professors are here to help you. Feeling overwhelmed because you didn’t do too hot on your midterm? Don’t worry–your professors are here to help. They’re human, too.

Also, DO NOT PANIC! The first half of the semester might be over, but the second half is a brand new start to re-invent yourself. You don’t understand your calculus homework and don’t know the parts of the cell for your biology lab? Take the time to get help, attend a tutoring session or even spend time in the library. It’s never too late to start over.

Before you continue to freak out, take the weekend off. Stay in bed until 1 p.m. then order food to your dorm. Relax with your girlfriends. Watch some TV. Eat a pint of ice cream. Go out at night and make memories. You aren’t going to be this young forever. Live in the moment and focus on your studies again on Monday.

Hey–before you know it, Christmas break will be here and you’ll be binge watching Netflix with a glass of hot chocolate. But before you decide to give up, there is still time! We know you can do it.

In the future, Jill would love to continue her education in graduate school, spend the rest of her life telling stories that matter (either in video or writing) and start a non-profit for youth homelessness. Jill is a firm believer in the fact that the ocean (and Chipotle) can change lives.. And that a third cup of coffee never hurts.
Erica is a senior at Cabrini College, majoring in communication with a minor in Spanish and is a Campus Correspondent of Her Campus' Cabrini chapter.
