Her Campus Cal Lutheran: What are you involved in on campus?

Andres Elvira: I’m involved in ASCLUG Programs Board, I’m a student life intern, I work in transitional leadership development programs, I’m a Peer Advisor, I’m a student ambassador so I work in the alumni/family relations office, I was a presidential host (which is a tour guide) last semester and over the summer, but am currently taking a break this semester.

HC: What is your idea of a perfect date?

AE: Probably dinner and something romantic. Like to go to the beach, eat at a nice sit down restaurant with a great view, and hopefully there’s a lot of talking.

HC: Any advice for incoming Kingsmen and Regals?

AE: I would definitely recommend getting involved because I feel like it makes your college experience better. You get to network with other students, faculty, and  alumni. Especially for me, getting involved has changed what I want to do with my life. Because I’m involved in a lot on campus, I want to go into student affairs now. I believe getting involved can really impact and change your college experience. Plus, it’s really fun and gives you something to do so you’re not bored.

HC: What is your favorite event on campus?

AE: I really like the events in the Spring, they’re a lot of fun. Last year there was the spring formal at the Ronal Reagan Library and this year it is going to be the spring concert. I like the end of the year events, that kind of wrap up the semester.

HC: If you could have any super power, what would it be?

AE: I would probably pick invisibility because I don’t know, sometimes I just want to disappear. Is that too depressing? Like I think invisibility would be fun and cool too.

HC: What is your favorite movie and/or T.V. show on Netflix?

AE: I like Parks and Recreation. I really love the Gay and Lesbian section on Netflix, I’ve watched like all of those movies!

HC: If you could pick one song that describes your life perfectly, what song would that be?

AE: Something Taylor Swift, I can’t think of a specific song, but something Taylor Swift. It keeps me going, right now school is really tough and I’m trying to hang in there. So T. Swift helps me get through my day.

HC: What is something you want to add to your bucket list?

AE: I really want to travel, possibly study abroad.

HC: What is your spirit animal?

AE: Well everyone tells me I’m either a cat or a squirrel. I sometimes rub up against peoples arms, like a cat would. Since I don’t like cats, I would have to say a squirrel.

HC: Anything interesting about your family?

AE: Well I’m a twin! My twin, he goes to Cal State Northridge. Leaving for college was the first time we had been separated from each other. It was hard at first, but I think we’ve gotten a lot closer because of it. So that’s like a fun fact about my family!

HC: Pandora or Spotify?

AE: Spotify.

HC: Favorite Drink at Starbucks and Jamba Juice?

AE: RIP: Peach Green Tea Lemonade. That’s my fav. drink and it’s a seasonal thing so they got rid of it now. And at Jamba Juice I would say Strawberry Swirl!

HC: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

AE: I would love to go to Greece. I’ve never been to Europe before, and I’ve never traveled anywhere outside of North America . Greece to me just looks really beautiful, exotic, the beaches are gorgeous. I’ve never really had the chance to experience anything like that and I really want to experience Europe.

HC: How do you feel about being nominated as a Campus Cutie this week?

AE: Oh my gosh! I’m so excited! I’ve been wanting to get nominated for like forever and now it happened! I’m like going to cry! It’s an honor!

HC: Anything else you’d like the readers of Her Campus to know?

AE: Feel free to say “hi” if you see me around on campus. I don’t bite!
