When that soundtrack begins that we know oh so well and Bond walks on screen pointing his gun right at you, you know you’re in for a treat! The latest in the series of James Bond movies, ‘Spectre’, was no exception to that rule. The movie came out in cinemas across the UK on the 26th October and, as always, it has been a huge success. The film is jam packed with thrilling car chases and fight sequences, beautiful Bond girls and of course, the gorgeous Daniel Craig!
SPOILER ALERT: The story merges the plots of Craig’s past three movies (‘Casino Royale’, ‘Quantum of Solace’ and ‘Skyfall’) to form an epic climax where he uncovers a secret organisation run by his previous enemies. So what did Her Campus think of the largely anticipated 24th Bond film?
‘Spectre’ has spoiled us rotten with not one, but two Bond girls! Firstly, we were introduced to the beautiful Monica Bellucci who, at the age of 51, is the oldest Bond girl to have graced our screens (but still looks incredibly good!). This was very refreshing to see a more worldly Bond girl, especially since Daniel Craig isn’t exactly a spring chicken anymore himself! However, sadly Bellucci was quickly cast aside to make way for 30 year old Lea Seydoux, another wonderful actress, but we can’t help but think she’s perhaps slightly young for her 47 year-old on-screen lover? But if Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas can do it then who’s to say it won’t fly in a Bond film!
This Bond film definitely does what it says on the tin. It provides great entertainment for all ages, but at two and a half hours long you might need to clear your schedule in advance! You also may want to consider refreshing your memory of the previous three films beforehand to make sure you know exactly what is going on at all times, but whether you do or you don’t, we at Her Campus would thoroughly recommend ‘Spectre’ to anyone who loves a thrill… or even just looking at Daniel Craig’s lovely bottom!
